Plain Vanilla @ Tiong Bahru

Bonjour! It has been long since we last updated our site so here is a mini update on not a café, but a bakery! Introducing to you… Plain Vanilla Bakery! Dum dum dum!

Okay let us start off with the fact that this little bakery is placed in an area with so many many many café’s around Such as Poteato and Forty hands, so why not stop by this bakery as well along your café hopping list? J

Alright this bakery has 2 branches here in Singapore. One in Tiong Bahru and the other at Holland (which is a café hopping haven as well), for this post it would be the Tiong Bahru branch!(10 mins walk from Tiong Bahru MRT) J

Other than their really nice exterior they have pretty nice drinks as well, the usual café latte and Mocha but if you’re a fan of cafe Mocha the chocolate taste in this one isn’t that strong so maybe you could ask them to pump in more chocolate syrup for you ;D
And since it is a bakery…. That’s right! Pastries and some… food I guess. LOL
You should definitely come early for their cupcakes(They run out pretty fast L) which is heavenly though some are mixed
with rum so I might suggest those who are not in favour with this ingredient you should ask
the workers questions before getting it J

Basically this place has a really nice ambience and the workers there are pretty nice too just that they have a really small space for people to consume their food there but nevertheless a tasty treat
from here will definitely brighten up your day!

Oh, before I forgot they also do Take outs as well, they will wrap it in a cardboard box(Its hard, no worries of it getting crumpled) which is super durable! Cheerios for the sunny(And freaking hot) weekends!

Holland Village - Tues-Sat 12pm-8pm
 Sun 12pm- 6pm.
Closed Mondays.

 Tiong Bahru - Tues-Fri 11am to 8pm
, Sat 9am to 8pm
and Sun 9am to 6pm. Closed Mondays.

Loysel's Toy @ 66 Kampong Bugis

Happy weekends people and a very good day to you all. We apologize for our semi hiatus due to examinations and work but we’re back for another lovely café post!
We have took the poll into considerations and we have decided to do some shout out for independent bakers selling their own cakes and such, Reviews on some art festival or theatrical show and maybe find some places of interest to chill and have a picnic, stay tuned for these updates and reviews. Finally, we fervently thank you all for your support in our blog!

So here we go! Loysel’s toy!
Preferably, alight at Lavender Station and walk for a rough 10 mintues to this cafe! :)

We have been to this café for quite a couple of times and the ambience here is simply spectacular!
Though I have to admit that the distance is rather a hassle but nevertheless it would be worth the travel.
They have a very tiny interior but there are loads of tables and chairs surrounding this café so I can ensure you that there are plenty of seats around for you to choose from. Basically on a normal weekday the café would not be as crowded as compared to a weekend but the seats outside isn’t that bad, despite it always being sunny its really windy here as well!

What I may suggest that you might want to come early in the morning like around 10am or so for their breakfast menu! It’s really worth every penny! Also I would like to mention that they have different menus on weekends and weekdays, personally I find the weekend menu much tastier. xD

Pancakes with Gula Melaka & Butter-  $6

Strawberry rhubarb cake ! Costs around $3.50( Can't recall)

Some nutella cake which costs around $4 (Can't recall)

Soy milk Mocha - $6(-$1 if you want to use regular milk )

Other than pancakes and pastries they do sell american breakfast like bacons with sausages and
eggs on the side. Salads, sandwiches so on and so forth are available here too for a decent price!

(Oh yes there are bike rentals here in collaboration with Life cycle)
$7/hr
$12/2hrs
$22/4hrs

Greeted by a nice ambience

There are seats available as well at the side of the cafe!

Also the seats behind

(A closer inspection)

Personally its a nice place, with great coffee and definitely great people as well!
This place is definitely family friendly and we really don't mind coming back for more.
It has been the umpteenth time we visit the place but despite the friendly service and striking convos with the
customers, I rarely see the staff smile. Haha yes! Cheerios mate! Maybe we always come on a busy
day, maybe that's why they all see so glum. Nonetheless a great cafe indeed! :)

HERE ARE SOME DETAILS YA!

(Price range $8-$15)

Rider's Café @ 51 Fairways Drive.

G'DAY, MATE!

A big *wave* to all viewers!
We installed a poll system on the left-hand side of our blog, kindly spare some time to vote so that we can make your stay here a better one. Only 7 more days to vote! For those who voted, thank you for your precious time and we will definitely look into it after the poll period ends. Do keep a look out for updates through our Twitter/Facebook profile. :)

You guys would have heard of the newest addition to the Café family - The Cat Café!
If you're not really a cat lover, why not try out The Riders Café? (^_^)

Rider's is located in the heart of Bukit Timah as well as being in the most unexpected place. Common misunderstanding: 'Rider's Café' is somewhere you can ride a horse and have breakfast/lunch - No, it is not! Sorry to disappoint anyone who is looking forward to that. The Rider's Café is located next to a Riding School, that will probably be one of the reason for it's signage. However, despite not being able to ride a horse (boohooohoooo, !) , you still can admire the beauty of the horses from the Café.

Rider's serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at specific timings, do check out the menu at their website stated at the bottom of this post.
We went for both breakfast and dinner. However, we were not able to capture much photos of the food there. So here's a Burrito ordered at Rider's.

For people who are looking forward to having pancakes for breakfast. This is my face when i realize there is no pancakes available on the weekends.
*PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT PANCAKES ON THE WEEKENDS IF YOU DO NOT WANNA END UP LOOKING LIKE ME IN THIS PHOTO >*
Yes, i like pancakes.

Other than the food there, the route to Rider's is a rather long trip. Be prepared with your most comfortable shoes if you're going there by bus and on foot (Which is what we recommend.). However, if you're a person who dislikes walking, please dial +65 6555 8888 for cab booking. If you own a vehicle, make full use of it.

We hope you have a safe journey there as well as a lovely experience looking for it!

L'etoile Cafe @ 160 Owen Road

Hey there hello! It has been our 3rd time or the 4th time we have been here and from time to time this cafe never fails to bring a smile to our faces, so yes we have decided to do a review on this awesome café. L'etoile Café!

To get to this café you can alight at the nearby MRT, Farrer Park. From there you would have to walk approximately 5-10min on a straight path and then a left turn. After doing so, TADAAAAAA, you can see this 2 level café from a distance J
When you step in you will be exposed to the lovely interior of this café. Trust me it’s a real lovely café J So here’s the food we bought! :D
(Toast with Egg Benedict)
(Cheese Fries)

(Crepes with chocolate syrup) (Aglio olio)
(Flavoured teas at $5.90 per pot)
(Latte)

I have to say though, their toast is really tasty. Even though it’s just toast with some eggs on the side and some weirdo sauce spread all over it is really simple yet tasty! :D

Oh and don’t forget to try their fries and crepes! It’s really worth the money, ok maybe not so but 8 Bucks for this amount of fries, and 6 bucks for crepes this tasty? I find it kind of a lucky strike as compared to the other cafes :D
And while you’re eating or drinking you can just admire the lovely interior of this café J

It gets really crowded on the weekends especially during lunch time, but on other days it is kind of empty and if you’re lucky enough, you might be able to get some seats on the 2nd level!

*And not to forget we invited a few friends over to check this café out as well so these was what they had to say

Khairy: The cafe has a lovely ambiance and view. Their food and drinks were ravishing especially their fries.
I also like how their cafe combined a modern and old theme!
Qayyum: The place is really nice and classy but if you're low on budget this cafe might be a little problem.
Johan: It was my first time being in a place like this, all I can say is, that it was nice and it's a quiet place for relaxing.

Personally we had a splendid time having lunch here while catching up. I would recommend this cafe for families as well as the ambiance here is really comfy and nice. Not forgetting their food of course.
Cheerios!
